Desypher answered a call to design a Permaculture Institute in Chiapas, Mexico targeted towards the indigenous community with an Islamic twist.
Our director travelled twice to Chaipas with the aim of developing a better contextual understanding by immersing himself in the social and natural environment of the region.
Ultimately, we put forward a design for a community facility that focused on faith based teaching of sustainable agricultural practices which could also inject much needed income to an otherwise impoverished group within the society. The facility included administrative offices, a cafe, atrium, seminar spaces, classrooms, dorms, guest accommodation, rooftop food forests and social spaces.
